Location: Our apartment is on the island Ciovo on the Adriatic coast. The bridge connecting the island to the mainland leads directly into the city of Trogir. Thus, the island is quite easibly reachable by car or by foot. The international airport of Split (for example, 1.5 hours flight time from Frankfurt) is only 6 km away.

Features of the area: Trogir is a medieval city (13th century) the pedestrian area of which is included in the UNESCO world cultural heritage rating. Furthermore the historic city center of Split, the palace of the Roman emperor Diocletian is also included in this UNESCO list. On the edge of Split there is the the archaeological site of the ancient city of Salona. On a daily basis there are opportunities for one-day boat trips to smaller islands in the area, well known for their practically abandoned beaches. Highly recommended are also trips to the national park on the Kornati island group and to the waterfalls of the river Krka.
